Row lives up to early promise in Doncaster

Marlborough trainer Richard Hannon made it 137 for the year when Ordnance Row confirmed earlier promise with victory in the Sands Venue Nursery in Doncaster.

Ryan Moore sent the 8-1 shot clear on the far side over a furlong out and despite tiring in the closing stages, he held on to land the spoils by two lengths from London Express.

“He got a bit tired going to the line but he’s taken a bit of time to come to himself,” said Richard Hannon junior.

“He’s been a bit unlucky a couple of times bumping into nice horses. Last time he bumped into that one of Michael Jarvis’s (Shelhom) and that looks like being a Guineas horse. He needs a winter under him and then he’ll be a nice horse next year.”
