Weld waits on weather

Dermot Weld walked the Flemington track on Monday morning and reported conditions to be “perfect” for Tuesday’s Emirates Melbourne Cup but warned there is still a chance Vinnie Roe could be pulled out of the race.

It is expected to be the seven-year-old’s last run in a distinguished career which has seen him win four consecutive Irish St Legers.
