Stoute hoping for favourable ground
Michael Stoute is not concerned about soft going ruining the chances of Favourable Terms in tomorrow’s Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf.
Recent heavy rain has left conditions at Belmont Park on the testing side and Favourable Terms has produced her best performances on faster ground.
However, the master of Freemason Lodge believes there is still time on his side.
He told The Times: “It has another two days to dry out, with no more rain forecast. It should be reasonable by Saturday.”
Favourable Terms is a general 20-1 shot for the race and is Stoute’s only Breeders’ Cup runner.
She won the Nassau Stakes in 2004 and was successful on her comeback at Doncaster in September after more than a year’s absence but subsequently disappointed in the Sun Chariot Stakes.
