Lisa needs to find more - Magnier

Coolmore supremo John Magnier believes Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf contender Mona Lisa “has a good bit to find” if she is to trouble the likes of Ouija Board at Belmont Park on Saturday.

Coolmore supremo John Magnier believes Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf contender Mona Lisa “has a good bit to find” if she is to trouble the likes of Ouija Board at Belmont Park on Saturday.

The Aidan O’Brien-trained daughter of Giant’s Causeway, who races for Michael Tabor and Magnier’s wife Susan, finished second in the Prix de l’Opera at Longchamp on her last outing earlier this month.

“She’s tough, very tough,” Magnier told Daily Racing Form. “It’s whether she’s good enough.

“We’re talking about Ouija Board and she’s a different grade.”

At Longchamp, Mona Lisa put up one of her best performances to be beaten a half-length by Knnaird and Magnier added: “She ran a lot better and she has been improving. But she has a good bit to find.”
