Roman Ruler will miss the Breeders’ Cup Sprint after suffering an injury to his right foot.

“We took him out today and he was lame in his right front foot,” trainer Bob Baffert told www.bloodhorse.com on Sunday.

“It’s not a quarter crack, but something is brewing in his heel. We’ve been soaking it, but when they’re that sore you can’t do anything for four days, so he won’t be able to make the Breeders’ Cup.”

Roman Ruler was a top-priced 8-1 chance with William Hill for the Sprint.
