Barabinka, who unseated his jockey at the start of a race at Pontefract before running head-on into the rest of the field, has been banned from racing by the Jockey Club.

The Paul Cole-trained three-year-old swerved right and parted company with Jose De Souza after leaving the stalls in the Renault Clio Maiden Stakes on September 15.

He then galloped the reverse way around the course and met the 11 other runners as he ran the wrong way down the home straight.

A disciplinary panel of the Jockey Club held an inquiry into the matter as it was the third time Barabinka, who has only had four starts, had unseated his rider during a race and ruled no further entries would be accepted for the gelding.
