Kieren Fallon has given up his mounts today after being taken ill in America on Saturday.

He was in Keeneland to partner Ad Valorem in the Shadwell Turf Mile but was forced to miss the race after feeling unwell and was replaced by Mike Smith. Ad Valorem finished sixth behind the outsider Host.

Fallon’s agent Jennifer Walsh said: “He was in the sauna and he was dehydrated.

“As far as I know he’s absent today but I don’t know about tomorrow.

“I don’t know whether he was allowed to fly back being dehydrated. They’ll probably wait until he’s alright to fly again which will probably be only 12 hours or so.”

Fallon had four booked rides for Aidan O’Brien at the Curragh, including Septimus, hot-favourite for the Juddmonte Beresford Stakes.
