Chunga handed Cheveley target
La Chunga is set to have her first start in Group One company in next Thursday’s Sky Bet Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket.
Trainer Jeremy Noseda has been aiming his filly at the six-furlong contest since she ran Flashy Wings to a length in the Lowther Stakes at York.
The daughter of More Than Ready also won the Albany Stakes at the Royal meeting and Noseda has been pleased with her progress since the Ebor meeting.
He told www.jeremynoseda.com: “La Chunga seems in very good order and remains on course for a tilt at the Cheveley Park.”
Noseda will also be represented by Araafa in the Group Three Somerville Tattersall Stakes on the same day.
He was a close second to Palace Episode in the Acomb Stakes at York last time and is now set to move up to Pattern-race company.
The Shalfleet handler added: “I’m also very happy with Araafa, who is approaching the Somerville Tattersall Stakes in good heart.”
