Dettori replaces Fallon aboard Ouija
Frankie Dettori has picked up the plum ride on Ouija Board in the Group Three Princess Royal John Doyle Stakes at Newmarket tomorrow.
The four-year-old was due to renew her association with Kieren Fallon who rode her on all but one of her five starts last season, including victories in the English and Irish Oaks and the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf.
However, Fallon’s retained trainer Aidan O’Brien is due to run Briolette in the mile-and-a-half race, leaving the mount of Ouija Board for the champion jockey.
“Frankie Dettori will be riding,” Dunlop confirmed. “We thought we had Kieren until yesterday afternoon but he is required for another runner now.
“Frankie rode Ouija Board a number of times in her work last year so he knows her well and has also seen her run. Hopefully, it will all go well.”
Ouija Board was ridden by Jamie Spencer on her only start this season when she finished seventh behind Azamour in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at the Royal meeting.
