Maximum field for Kerry National
Euro Leader, the mount of Ruby Walsh, and Garvivonnian head the list of runners declared for tomorrow’s Guinness Kerry National.
Walsh won the race last year on the Michael O’Brien-trained Banasan and is on the likely favourite this time.
Willie Mullins’ charge was a smooth winner of the Denny Gold Medal Handicap Chase at Tralee last month but he has to shoulder joint-top weight of 12st.
Garvivonnian reverts to fences having recently been campaigned over hurdles.
Totheroadyouvgone, trained by Alan Jones in Devon, is the only British raider for the €150,000 feature and will be ridden by 3lb claimer Robbie Colgan.
A total of 18 horses are to run in the three-mile contest with Bizet, Howaya Pet, Piercing Sun and Pearly Jack other interesting contenders.
