Strength in depth for O'Brien
Aidan O’Brien has a typically strong hand for the Group One Meon Valley Stud Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket on Saturday.
With the race re-routed to the Suffolk venue from Ascot this year, the master of Ballydoyle has three of the confirmed 13 runners.
O’Brien chooses from Alexandrova, High Chaparral’s full-sister Chenchikova - who did little wrong on her recent winning debut at Tipperary – and Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Rumplestiltskin.
Cheveley Park Stud won the race with Red Bloom in 2003 and could be represented by Prestige Stakes winner Nannina, whose trainer John Gosden took the race last year with Playful Act.
Ed Dunlop’s well-regarded Cross Channel is joined by Eilean Ban from the Gainsborough Stables, while May Hill Stakes first and second, Nasheej and High Heel Sneakers, could be set for a rematch.
Saabiq, dual Group Two runner-up Salut D’Amour, Riyalma, Kahlua Kiss and recent Newbury winner Mostaqeleh complete the line-up.
