Vinnie Roe is Leger-bound
Vinnie Roe is set to bid for his fifth consecutive success in the Irish Field St Leger on Saturday after pleasing trainer Dermot Weld.
There had been worries a haematoma could rule the seven-year-old out of the Classic, but the Rosewell House handler reports his charge to be on course for the Curragh.
“I am happy with Vinnie Roe in every way. The haematoma he suffered last week is clearing up nicely and the horse is in great order,” Weld told the Racing Post.
“The only thing that could stop Vinnie Roe running is the ground. I walked across the top of the hill this morning (Wednesday) and I thought it was firm.”
