Noseda's Cast on a short holiday

Jeremy Noseda is to give last weekend’s Prix du Moulin third Majors Cast a short break before bringing him back to the track next month.

The four-year-old has enjoyed a busy spell of late, finishing third in the Lennox Stakes, second in the Hungerford and occupying the same position in the Celebration Mile before his French outing.

“Majors Cast will now have a little break before returning to the track in either the Challenge Stakes on Champions’ Day at Newmarket (October 15) or, as an alternative, we could possibly consider the Shadwell Mile, a Grade One at Keeneland on October 8,” the trainer told www.jeremynoseda.com.

The Newmarket-based handler also reported Proclamation gave a dirty scope after his disappointing effort in the William Hill Sprint Cup at Haydock, and will now be aimed at the Prix de la Foret at Longchamp on October 1.

Noseda said: “Proclamation looked in tip-top order approaching his race at Haydock. However, a subsequent dirty scope revealed the reason for his below-par performance.

“I feel he should recover quickly and the Prix de la Foret remains his next target.”
