Electrocutionist misses Arc

Italian ace Electrocutionist will miss the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in favour of a crack at the Canadian International at Woodbine on October 23.

Connections of the Juddmonte International Stakes winner fear the ground in Paris on October 2 may not be suitable for the four-year-old and have decided to change their plans.

“He will not run in the Arc de Triomphe and the plan is to instead run him in the Canadian International,” said trainer Valfredo Valiani.

“I’ve spoken with the racing manager of Mr Mack (his owner) and this is what he wants to do. The decision has been made because there are concerns about the ground and he might have an easier option in Toronto, where he goes with a great chance.

“If the ground is not good in Toronto we will look at the Breeders’ Cup Turf six days later.”

Electrocutionist was a general 14-1 chance for the French showpiece.
