Trainer Gerard Butler will decide tomorrow if Nayyir takes up one of his two engagements at the weekend.

Trainer Gerard Butler will decide tomorrow if Nayyir takes up one of his two engagements at the weekend.

The popular seven-year-old holds entries in the totepool Winter Hill Stakes at Windsor on Saturday evening and in the totesport Celebration Mile at Goodwood on Sunday.

Nayyir was second behind Chic in the Goodwood Group Two contest 12 months ago and his last success came at the Sussex track in July 2003.

Should he go for Windsor’s Group Three feature, the Indian Ridge gelding would be tackling a mile and a quarter for the first time since finishing last in a small race at Lingfield in March 2002.

Butler said: “He will dictate if we go at the weekend and where we go. We will make a decision tomorrow.”
