Chunga on course for York
La Chunga tuned up for next Thursday’s Jaguar Cars Lowther Stakes when moving well on the Newmarket gallops this morning.
The More Than Ready filly, who won the Group Three Albany Stakes in June, enjoyed a six-furlong spin on the Al Bahathri polytrack.
Jeremy Noseda’s charge will be aiming to bounce back to her best at York after finishing fourth in the Princess Margaret Stakes at Newbury last month.
The Shalfleet handler told www.jeremynoseda.com: “I was very happy with the way she worked this morning. We are now eagerly looking forward to running her in the Lowther.”
Meanwhile, Noseda has stated that Soldier’s Tale will not be competing in next Thursday’s VC Bet Nunthorpe Stakes at York.
He added: “He has been appearing in the betting but the Nunthorpe has never been on his agenda.
It was unfortunate that he had to miss the Prix Maurice du Gheest last Sunday after a minor setback but he will hopefully return to action in the Sprint Cup at Haydock on September 3.”
