Deauville date for Dreamer
Peter Chapple-Hyam is eyeing up a foreign raid with Dizzy Dreamer, who disappointed in the Star Stakes at Sandown a fortnight ago.
The Spinning World filly sat down briefly before the start of the contest and was only eighth behind Confidential Lady, having been a debut scorer at Leicester on her only other start.
However, she is in line for a crack at the Prix du Calvados at Deauville on August 20, a seven-furlong Group Three in which her trainer was successful 12 months ago with Cours De La Reine.
He also trained Woodland Melody, the winner of the 1997 renewal.
Chapple-Hyam said: “The plan for Dizzy Dreamer is the Prix du Calvados. She’s definitely better than she’s shown so far.”
Dizzy Dreamer showed her well-being on the Newmarket gallops yesterday morning when she enjoyed a good workout over six furlongs on the Limekilns in company with an unraced two-year-old and an older horse.
