Light goes out on Windsor punters
There was high drama in the penultimate race at Windsor this evening when Echo Of Light threw away a winning chance in the Christine Sharp Maiden Stakes.
The even-money favourite, a son of the ill-fated Dubai Millennium, was still going well in front in the 10-furlong contest under Kerrin McEvoy when he appeared to hang to his left approaching the course proper and ran out.
That left market rival Sir Edward Elgar in front and Jimmy Fortune’s mount was not stretched to come three and a half lengths in front of Lady Diktat.
