Channon giving Flashy a break

Mick Channon has decided to give his unbeaten filly Flashy Wings a mid-season break before deciding on a late-summer programme for the filly.

The daughter of Zafonic made her mark at the Royal meeting with a hugely impressive three-length success over Salut D’Amour in the Queen Mary Stakes.

Although Channon is considering targets in either France or Ireland for Flashy Wings, he is in no hurry to finalise plans.

He said: “At this minute she’s out in the paddock. She’ll stay there for at least another couple of weeks.

“I am in no rush to decide where she goes and I’ll let her tell me when she is ready for another run.”

Flashy Wings is as low as 14-1 with William Hill for next year’s 1000 Guineas at Newmarket.
