Proportions simply Divine

Divine Proportions took her unbeaten record to eight by winning the Prix de Diane Hermes at Chantilly today.

The Niarchos family-owned filly, trained by Pascal Bary, completed the French 1000 Guineas/Oaks double with an impressive victory over Argentina.

Christophe Lemaire brought her to lead early in the straight and she gradually pulled clear of her rivals.

The two pacemakers, Sapas and Alharmina, went a strong gallop, with Divine Proportions settling beautifully in fourth place.

The field came wide off the home turn, allowing Vadawina to get a dream run on the far rail.

The Aga Khan’s filly and Divine Proportions were soon at the head of affairs, but Vadawina’s run petered out with a furlong left.

There was no danger to the 8-15 favourite as she powered home in her first attempt at 10 and a half furlongs.

Argentina plugged on well for second, with Paita third and Vadawina only fourth.
