Hattan strikes for Brittain

Hattan struck another big-race blow for Clive Brittain when producing a gritty display to land the MBNA Europe Bank Chester Vase this afternoon.

Seb Sanders was always in touch aboard the 11-2 shot behind the leader First Row and the pair quickened away turning for home, along with Almighty.

Sanders left it as late as possible to get in front but managed to hold the challenge of 100-30 favourite Almighty by half a length at the line.
