Soar to miss Newmarket run
Soar will miss her scheduled seasonal reappearance in Saturday’s Vcbet Palace House Stakes at Newmarket after picking up a heel infection.
James Fanshawe’s filly, who is having a campaign geared towards the sprints rather than the Classics, may now be seen at York’s Dante meeting next month, where she has an entry in the Duke of York Hearthstead Homes Stakes.
The daughter of Danzero won three of her five starts last term, including the Lowther Stakes at the same venue in August.
Chris Richardson, managing director of owners Cheveley Park Stud, told the Racing Post: “Soar needs to take a course of antibiotics and will not be able to run this weekend. We’ll have to monitor her progress before making fresh plans now – but providing she recovers quickly, there’s a chance she’ll run at York in a couple of weeks time.”
