Sandown target for Tolpuddle
Irish trainer Tommy Stack intends to send Tolpuddle to Sandown Park for the Group Three Betfred Gordon Richards Stakes on Saturday.
Stack, who sent out Quasimodo to win the Kells Handicap at Gowran yesterday, said the easy ground at the Esher track had persuaded him to let the five-year-old make the trip.
“He wants soft ground, and it is on the soft side of good with the chance of more rain, so he will take his chance,” he said.
Wayne Lordan will ride Tolpuddle, who was beaten a total of about three lengths when fourth behind Sublimity in a Listed race at the Curragh on his last run at the beginning of this month.
