Suez out of Guineas
Suez, who pleased connections when she worked at Nad Al Sheba racecourse yesterday, is injured and has been ruled out of the UltimatePoker.com 1000 Guineas.
She sustained an ankle injury during her seven-furlong gallop with Fen Shui at the Dubai track.
Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford told www.godolphin.com: “It is a great shame. She is lame on her right front and X-rays have revealed a small chip, which will require arthroscopic surgery.”
Crisford had said after yesterday’s work under Frankie Dettori that both Suez and Fen Shui were being considered for the Newmarket Classic, in which Godolphin are due to run Satin Kiss.
Trained by Michael Jarvis as a juvenile, Suez won her first two starts before finishing second to Magical Romance in the Group One Cheveley Park Stakes on her final outing.
