Godolphin’s high hopes of winning the Kentucky Derby with Blues And Royals were shattered yesterday when the colt was ruled out of the race following a setback.

The three-year-old, a brilliant 12-length winner of the UAE Derby at Nad Al Sheba on his only start this year, is suffering from a low-grade respiratory condition.
