Hombre misses Cup date
Frankie Dettori will be without a ride in tomorrow’s Dubai World Cup at Nad Al Sheba after Grand Hombre was withdrawn.
The five-year-old has failed to recover from the bruised foot he sustained on Tuesday in time to tackle the feature event.
Godolphin, who would have been bidding for a fifth win in the race, will now not be represented.
Although Grand Hombre misses out tomorrow, he is expected to be back on track soon with Godolphin planning an American campaign.
“He has not quite recovered and it would not have been the right thing to run him,” said Godolphin’s racing manager Simon Crisford.
“He will probably be campaigned in North America again later this year.”
