Andrew Thornton is counting his blessings this morning after escaping serious injury in a fall at Sandown yesterday.

The rider, who is due to partner ante-post favourite Kingscliff in Friday’s totesport Cheltenham Gold, was unshipped when his mount The Listener slipped on the bend in the first race.
