Murphy stable make Smart move

Dublin telecommunications firm Smart Telecom is to sponsor the North Yorkshire stable of Ferdy Murphy.

“It’s initially a one-year deal, with a rolling contract,” said the West Witton trainer. “We are thrilled to bits – it’s a fantastic deal. It starts on March 9, so the timing is right for Cheltenham, where our runners could well be into double figures.

“Brendan O’Rourke, who owns Basilea Star, introduced us to the company and we took it from there.”
