Frank misses Gentleman's assignment
Colonel Frank has been ruled out of today’s Country Gentleman’s Association Chase at Wincanton because of a bruised heel.
“He must have taken a tap on the point of his heel yesterday and when I went to take him out for a pick of grass last night he was lame,” said trainer Brendan Powell.
“He’s virtually sound this morning but there’s no point going for a race like that unless you are 100 per cent.
“If the race was tomorrow he could probably run but all being well he’ll now go for the Racing Post Chase at Kempton next Saturday.”
Colonel Frank is on an upward curve having won his last three starts at Sandown (two) and Wincanton since failing by six lengths to give 18lb to the progressive Oneway on his seasonal debut.
