Hourigan expects Beef Or Salmon back soon
Michael Hourigan is hopeful stable star Beef Or Salmon can bounce back quickly from his below-par effort in the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Leopardstown yesterday.
The nine-year-old was found to be suffering from an upper respiratory tract infection after finishing a lacklustre second to Rule Supreme.
Beef Or Salmon was 14 lengths behind the winner but he scoped dirty after the race and is now on the easy list at Hourigan’s Co Limerick yard.
“He’s fine this morning. I would expect him to take about five days to get over it and I would think he will be back in work next Monday,” he said.
Beef Or Salmon is still on course for the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup for which he is now as big as 12-1 with Ladbrokes.
