McCoy misses Musselburgh rides

Tony McCoy will miss his four booked rides at Musselburgh this afternoon as he continues to recover from flu.

The champion jockey was due to partner three runners for Irish trainer Charlie Swan as well as Brian Ellison’s Cheltenham Festival hope Carte Diamond at the Scottish track.

However, McCoy is still feeling the effects of the illness which forced him to give up his remaining mounts after riding in the first race at Sandown yesterday.

McCoy’s agent Dave Roberts said: “He won’t be riding today. He’s still got flu.

“He will give it a miss tomorrow as there is only Sedgefield but I would expect him to be back at Market Rasen on Tuesday.”
