Fontwell on after pitch inspection

Racing at Fontwell Park this afternoon has been given the go-ahead following an early-morning inspection.

There had been fears that freezing overnight temperatures could pose a problem.

But clerk of the course Geoff Stickels said: “We’ve passed the inspection. There was very little frost overnight. It’s not in the ground and we’re actually plus two at the moment.”
