David Casey is hoping to return to the saddle by the start of next month.

The Irishman has been out of action since November 12 after breaking his left leg in a fall at Wexford but is aiming to be back in time to ride Rule Supreme in the Hennessy Gold Cup at Leopardstown on February 6.

“The leg feels good and is getting stronger every day,” Casey told At The Races. “Hopefully it won’t be too much longer before I get the all-clear.

“Rule Supreme runs in the Irish Hennessy and that should be four or five days after I get the all-clear. It would be nice to get back for that – but any day would be nice to get back!”
