Bunny make make hop to Warwick
Noel Meade is considering sending The Bunny Boiler over from his Co Meath base for the totesport Classic Chase at Warwick on Saturday week.
The Bunny Boiler has not won over fences since the 2002 Irish Grand National but has shown signs recently that he could be returning to somewhere near his old form.
Meade’s 11-year-old has also won a Midlands Grand National and is well suited by extreme distances.
“It’s a possibility he could go to Warwick,” Meade told Racing UK. “He’s in the Leopardstown Chase on Sunday but he’s better over a longer trip.
“He seems to be a little bit more like he was and he’s coming down a bit in the ratings. He ran respectably in the Paddy Power. He made a bad mistake at a crucial point and that put him out the race, but he was running on quite well at the end.
“That was over three miles. Three miles five (at Warwick) would suit him better. If he doesn’t go there he’ll probably go for some of those long-distance races in England.”
There are 39 entries left in the Warwick feature after today’s forfeit stage, headed by John Hughes Rehearsal Chase winner One Knight.
