Ahern hits treble top

Eddie Ahern saw out 2004 in style with a sparkling 56}-1 treble on Secret Place, Compton Bolter and Play The Ball at Wolverhampton today to take his winning tally for the year to 111.

After scoring on the Ed Dunlop-trained Secret Place (3-1) in the Happy New Year From Bet Direct Handicap, Ahern rode a double for Gerard Butler.
