Past prevails at Leopardstown

Forget The Past bravely held Leading The Way after a stamina-sapping three miles in the Ascon/Rohcon Novice Chase at Leopardstown today.

The first two had the race to themselves over the last few fences with Forget The Past proving the stronger on the flat to take the Grade One event by three-quarters of a length.

The 7-2 winner is trained by Michael O’Brien and was ridden by his assistant, amateur rider Denis Cullen.

However, odds-on favourite Mark The Man (4-7) was a bitter disappointment and never got involved at the business end after showing up well early on.
