Paul Carberry will ride Beef Or Salmon in Tuesday’s Lexus Chase at Leopardstown.

Carberry steps in for the mount on the eight-year-old after regular partner Timmy Murphy confirmed that he is required to ride at Chepstow for owner David Johnson.

Beef Or Salmon’s trainer Michael Hourigan had considered booking Ruby Walsh but he is also needed at Chepstow while Carberry’s intended mount, the Noel Meade-trained Harbour Pilot, has been ruled out of the race.

Hourigan told the Racing Post: “Noel was decent to ring and let me know the situation and Paul will ride Beef Or Salmon.”

Carberry has ridden the gelding once before, partnering him to victory in the Morris Oil Chase at Clonmel in 2002.
