Frost claims Fakenham
Today’s meeting at Fakenham was finally claimed by frost following a second inspection.
Officials at the Norfolk track called off their attempt to get the fixture to take place shortly after 10am.
Clerk of the course David Hunter had been “fairly confident” after an initial inspection two hours earlier, but his optimism evaporated after temperatures failed to rise sufficiently.
“It went down to minus four last night,” said Hunter.
The loss of Fakenham means that there is no jump racing in Britain today leaving two Flat fixtures on the all-weather at Lingfield and Wolverhampton.
