Conceal landed the feature conditions sprint at Jebel Ali in Dubai today to maintain the fine form of Gary Hind and his boss, Kuwaiti trainer Rashed Bouresly.

A winner at the International Carnival and of the Listed HH The President Cup last season, the six-year-old went for home a furlong out and held off Willie Supple on the fast-finishing Sleeping Weapon.

The trainer said: “He will run in both the National Day and HH The President Cups before contesting races at the Carnival. He is a different horse with Gary in the saddle.”

The trainer registered a double when David Hayse made every yard of the running on the former Mark Johnston inmate Suzuka in the concluding mile handicap.

Dhruba Selvaratnam’s Marbush, having only his second UAE start, provided stable jockey Pat Smullen with his first winner of the season in good style in the nine-furlong handicap.

Brazilian jockey Francisco Da Silva partnered Musabah Al Muhairi’s Semigold to a last-gasp victory in the five-furlong handicap, catching Ryan Moore on Mr Pop Idol.

Doug Watson continues to lead the way in the trainers’ table and saw his Quicknap lose his maiden tag at the 13th attempt in the seven-furlong handicap.
