Short price at Punchestown is justified

Justified made a quick reappearance to make all and run out a smart winner under Shay Barry at Punchestown this afternoon.

Sent off the 5-4 favourite for the Listed INH Stallion Owners European Breeders Fund Novice Hurdle, the five-year-old pulled clear in the straight to beat Kerryhead Windfarm by three lengths.

Last seen when fourth in a Grade One event just seven days ago, Justified jumped off in front and never really looked like being caught despite the runner-up staying on strongly in the home straight.

The Paddy Mullins-trained New Field made good headway round the outside of the field turning out of the back straight and the 9-4 shot came home in third place.
