Fitzgerald in line for Rigmarole ride
Mick Fitzgerald has confirmed his interest in partnering Rigmarole in the totesport Elite Hurdle at Wincanton on Saturday.
But his availability depends on where his regular trainer Nicky Henderson wants him to go.
The ride on Paul Nicholls’ classy hurdler is available because his usual jockey Ruby Walsh will be serving a one-day ban that day.
“I spoke to Paul last night and I am very much in line for the ride on him,” Fitzgerald told At The Races.
“I would like to go and ride him if I could, but it depends on Nicky Henderson’s plans.”
Rigmarole warmed up for the Grade Two hurdle with a facile victory in the RHT 40th Anniversary Hurdle at Kempton last month.
