Henrik set for trophy bid

Henrik looks set to tackle the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster on Saturday after delighting Mick Channon in a spin this morning.

The well-regarded son of Primo Dominie won on his debut at Goodwood in May and gave subsequent Group One winner Dubawi a real fright in the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket on his only other start.

“He breezed up this morning with Top Seed. Sam Hitchcott rode him and I was very impressed with him,” the Lambourn trainer told At The Races.

“I think we’ll probably go for the Racing Post – I’ve got him in the Horris Hill as well but the way he went this morning, I’m going to give it a crack.”

Henrik was an intended runner in the Dewhurst Stakes last Saturday but was withdrawn on account of the rain-softened ground.
