First foal for Sunline

Champion New Zealand mare Sunline has given birth to her first foal, a filly by Rock Of Gibraltar, at Cambridge Stud.

Trevor McKee, who trained Sunline throughout her illustrious career and is the major shareholder, is planning to race the filly himself.

“She’s a nice healthy foal and Sunline was very protective of her. I think we’ll be keeping her to race ourselves. It’s something to look forward to,” he told New Zealand Thoroughbred Update.

Sunline will now be served by Cambridge Stud’s champion sire Zabeel before she and her foal return to McKee’s property near Auckland.
