Fallon delays comeback to Friday

Champion jockey Kieren Fallon has delayed his return to the saddle and now plans to be back on Friday following his crashing fall earlier in the week.

The six-times title holder had hoped to be back in action at Lingfield today but has opted to give himself further time to recuperate.

“It was a nasty fall and I am still feeling very sore. I won’t be back tomorrow and the plan is to come back at Newmarket on Friday,” the rider told Teletext, for whom he provides a regular weekly column.

Fallon was released from Leicester Royal Infirmary on Monday evening, having narrowly escaped serious injury when he took a crashing fall from Maritima in the second division of the EBF Hare Maiden Fillies’ Stakes.
