Kieren Fallon's hopes of winning a seventh jockey's title suffered a setback today as he was unable to ride at Leicester.

Fallon had six rides booked and planned to get back in the saddle despite narrowly escaping serious injury at the English East Midlands track yesterday.

Fallon trails Frankie Dettori by 13 in the race for the flat jockeys’ title but he has vowed to “bat on”.

However he failed to recover sufficiently from the injury to ride today.

Fallon's woes began when he took a crashing fall from Maritima in the EBF Hare Maiden Fillies Stakes (Division Two) and was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary.
