Quiff won't run in Arc on Sunday

Quiff, runner-up in the St Leger, will not be supplemented Sunday’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp.

Owner Khalid Abdullah would have had to pay €60,000 today to add the Michael Stoute-trained filly to the field for the Group One race.

However, Quiff has shown her best form on ground with some ease in it and with the prospect of quick going at the Paris track, Abdullah has decided not to risk her.

Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to Abdullah, said: “She does not run. I think we are not going to get the rain that we wanted there.”

Grimthorpe confirmed that Quiff, an impressive 11-length winner of the Yorkshire Oaks, will stay in training next year as a four-year-old.
