Landmark for Holland
Darryll Holland will become the first jockey this season to ride in 1,000 races when he takes up seven mounts at Kempton tomorrow.
Matt Chapman, Holland’s agent, said this morning: “Darryll has worked extremely hard this year and, considering he has no stable behind him, has done terribly well.
“I’m desperately trying to get him to 160 for the season, so we need another 29 winners – he’s now on 131 – this year which should be possible.
That would give him his best score ever and, with over £2,000,000 in prize money, he can take great credit.
“It would be lovely if he could get a stable behind him as he’d enjoy being part of a team, but while we explore various avenues he’ll continue to ride for anyone who wants him.”
