In-form Beau heads Ayr field

Top-weight Smokin Beau heads a massive field of 134 horses confirmed for Saturday’s totesport Ayr Gold Cup.

Nick Littmoden’s seven-year-old has been in tremendous form of late and completed a hat-trick last month.

He is lumbered with 9st 10lb in the big six-furlong heritage handicap which, as expected, was way oversubscribed at today’s five-day stage as only 28 can go to post for the £120,000 (€176,500) contest.

But horses who do miss Thursday’s cut have the option of going for the Silver Cup on Friday.
