Kieren Fallon was out of luck at Salisbury today on his first ride since being arrested and bailed as part of a police investigation into race-fixing.

The champion jockey returned to action on Golden Fury in the Whitsbury Manor Stud EBF Novice Stakes but finished out of the places.

Fallon was flanked by security men on the walk to the paddock and was greeted by cheering and clapping from some racegoers.

The race went to the Johnny Murtagh-ridden Liakoura (6-1).
