French option for Ouija board

Dual Oaks winner Ouija Board is likely to be seen next in either the Prix de l’Opera at Longchamp or Newmarket’s Champion Stakes.

Trainer Ed Dunlop is considering both Group One races, along with the Prix Vermeille at Longchamp, for his stable star after she was pulled out of the Yorkshire Oaks owing to the soft ground.

The Lord Derby-owned filly has not been seen since scoring in the Irish Oaks at the Curragh in mid-July and her fans are now likely to have to wait until October for her reappearance.

“I am not convinced that we should be going to France twice, so we may miss the Vermeille and wait for the Opera or the Champion Stakes,” Dunlop told BBC Sport.

“She is staying in training next year, so we don’t need to run on soft ground at this stage of her life.”
